Shannon McGraw:  Practice Manager

Shannon began working for Borador as a technician assistant during breaks from college until graduation from Oneonta State in 1999.  After graduation, she enjoyed working in the dairy industry as a milk inspector and then as a farm manager on two large dairies in Northern Vermont.  She returned to the area and fulfilled the role as practice manager in 2005.  Shannon recently purchased a home in Argyle with her fiance, Scott.  They share their home with their dog, Echo and kitty, Winnie.

Melissa Rushinski:  Client Care Specialist

Melissa has been a vital part of the Borador Team since 1998.  Our clients find her years of experience and knowledge as a client care specialist and technician assistant very comforting.  She is very caring and always eager to help with a smile.   Melissa lives in Shushan with her husband, Clint, two sons, Calob and Jacob, and their four legged friends, Grady, Rowyn and MacLyn.  During her time away from work, she enjoys spending time with her family and participating in all levels of fitness.

Laurie Lourie:  Office Assistant

Laurie joined Borador in June 2001.  She began as a client care specialist and then fulfilled the office assistant position in 2006.  Laurie shares her home with her 16 year old daughter, Meghan while her son, Jordan, has been living in Alaska since 2007.  In Laurie's spare time you can find her baking in her kitchen or at church teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir.  Laurie also shares her home with her daughter's Beta named Phish.

Lynn Dunster
:  Animal Care Technician Assistant

Lynn joined our team as a veterinary technician assistant in September 2009.  A graduate of Cobleskill College and Adirondack Community College, she has spent many years in the field of human health care, now turning toward animal health to fulfill a life long passion.  At home, she cares for her 3 dogs, 5 cats and 7 ducks.  Agility with her dogs and volunteering with an animal rescue group fill her spare time.

Laura Periard:  Animal Care Technician

Laura has been a very important part of Borador since spring of 2001 as one of our Animal Care Technicians.  She attended BOCES in Hudson Falls and Adirondack Community College studying to become a nurse.  Laura previously worked in our boarding facility but her dedication and love for animals quickly moved her to the animal care technician position.  She shares her home with her husband, Chad and son, Christopher, along with 1 dog, 4 cats and 1 ferret.  Laura's older son, Derreck, lives in town close by.  Laura enjoys spending time with her family which includes traveling during the summer to county fairs to cheer on Chad and Christopher at their tractor pulls and going camping.  Laura's husband has been working on a Volkswagon Bug that she would love to drive around and hopefully someday she will!

Laura Gangloff:  Licensed Veterinary Technician

Laura is a licensed veterinary technician who graduated from SUNY Delhi in May of 2006.  As an animal lover since childhood it only seemed natural for her to work in this profession.  She has been working at Borador since June of 2005, but her family animals have been taken care of by Borador veterinarians for many years.  She enjoys her job, and finds it very rewarding to help nurse critically ill patients back to health.  Laura currently lives in Cambridge with her lab mix named Milo and cat, Bailey.  She also loves taking care of her horse, Sunny and her miniature horse, Charlie.  In her free time she enjoys reading and taking Sunny to local horse shows.

Kimberly McGuire:  Licensed Veterinary Technician

Kim graduated from SUNY Canton with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Science Technology in May of 2009 and joined the Borador team in June.  Kim presently resides in Hartford, NY with her two dogs, Shadow and Isabelle.  Along with her two dogs, she owns two horses, Whiskey and Libby.  All four of Kim's "kids" are rescues.  As you can tell, she is a real animal lover.  Therefore, when she is not at Borador, she can be found doing any of the following; working with Shadow for Therapy Dog International, training Izzy to be a therapy dog, teaching Whiskey the latest moves for the Adirondack Cowgirls Drill Team, or familiarizing Libby with barrel racing.  Sometimes there is just not enough hours in the day to be a "parent" of four.

Debra Bishop:  Client Care Specialist

Deb became familiar with Borador as a client in 1999 with her cats, Milly and Chloe and her dog, Winston.  She joined the team in July 2009.    Before coming to Borador, Deb worked many years caring for children at her mother's daycare.  She is a long time resident of Hebron with her husband, Chuck and their son, Logan.  She loves spending time with her family and in her spare time she enjoys walking and reading.

Wayne Maynard (aka Farmer):

The "man behind the scenes" at Borador since December 2003.  You may find him mowing the lawn, painting or any number of other beautifying activities, all the while keeping the hospital in fully functional tip-top shape.  We could not survive without him.  Farmer lives in Hebron with his wife, Terri and he enjoys spending time with his grandson, Gavin and cutting wood.

Nancy Painter:  Client Care Specialist

Nancy has been a client of Borador Animal Hospital for many years and has now joined the practice as a client care specialist.  Nancy and her husband, Dick, moved to the Salem area in 1974.  Before joining Borador, Nancy worked from home as a medical transcriptionist for 22 years so she could raise their 4 children.  Nancy is involved in teaching Bible Study to college-aged students.  The Painter's share their home with their 5 dogs; Madelyn, Percy, Jack, Toby and Brownie and their cat, Mystic.  In her free time, Nancy enjoys spending time with her 7 grandchildren and working with her dogs in agility and taking the dogs to visit the residents in the area nursing home.
